Our Process
How Commissions move through the Foundry
Fourth Star Foundry commissions are released in small, intentional batches on the fourth day of each month at 12:00 PM Central Time (CT).
Each commission reservation marks the beginning of a focused and collaborative design cycle. Time is set aside for work that is personal, considered, and thoughtfully crafted to last. Securing your reservation holds your place within that cycle.
Each Fourth Star Foundry piece is crafted by hand in one of our two Canadian Studios (Kenora, ON or Oakville, MB) and issued in single edition. Availability is intentionally limited to protect the quality of the work and the experience of each client.
Commission Reservations & Design Consultation
- Commission spots are released on the fourth day of each month at 12:00 PM Central Time (CT), in a limited number.
- Securing a spot reserves capacity for an upcoming custom project. Garment selection, scope, materials, colorways, pricing, shipping, and timeline are all confirmed at this time.
- Once all commission spots are filled, additional requests are placed on a waitlist. Should capacity become available, waitlisted clients may be invited into the current design cycle or offered priority placement in the next release.
- Once the design consultation is complete and all details are confirmed, full payment is collected to secure your commission. Payments are non-refundable once work is scheduled.
- After payment is complete you'll receive shipping instructions to send your garment to the appropriate Studio location. Canada Post flat-rate boxes are used for consistent sizing, tracking, insurance and secure return.
Inside the Foundry
What happens once your piece arrives in our care
- Arrival & Intake - Your garment is received, logged into our production queue, and reviewed against the confirmed design details to ensure everything is aligned before the work begins.
- Crystal Composition - Once a garment has entered the Foundry Process, crystal size and colour selections are finalized. Unique cresting, colour variation, preference, or fabric construction may call for subtle refinements to ensure the best possible match. Any adjustments are considered and approved by our Lead Artisan before production begins.
- The Work - Each piece is completed by hand with close attention to balance, durability, and design integrity. Crystal placement respects the garment's structure and movement, ensuring it remains wearable, resilient, and visually considered. This creates a piece that reflects the wearer as much as the work itself.
- Completion & Return - Once complete, each piece undergoes a final review before being carefully prepared for return. Your garment is securely packaged and shipped with tracking and insurance, arriving back to you as a finished piece of custom wearable art, and is ready to take its place in your story.
